MARIACHI ACADEMY DE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY

Mariachi Academy de San Bernardino County is a welcoming, beginner-friendly program that encourages students to explore and learn about the world of traditional mariachi music and history. The mission of Mariachi Academy de San Bernardino County is to introduce students to the joy of mariachi music while fostering teamwork, cultural pride, creativity, and community engagement. The program provides step-by-step instruction in traditional mariachi performance, instrumental skills, vocal techniques, ensemble collaboration, and musical interpretation. Students build confidence and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of live performance and representing their community through music.

As students progress in their learning and become more interested in performance, they will have opportunities to join the Mariachi Academy de San Bernardino County performance group, Mariachi Encanto! Mariachi Encanto, described immediately below, performs at school and community events throughout Southern California, including local fairs, cultural festivals, and community gatherings.

Thanks to our partnership with the Expanded Learning Department (EXL) of the San Bernardino Unified School District, the Mariachi Academy de San Bernardino County program is available at no cost to all SBCUSD students (6–12th grades).

Mariachi Encanto is a performance group made up of students in grades 6-12 from across the inland empire. Mariachi Encanto celebrates the passion, discipline, and vitality of young musicians developing their craft for audiences everywhere. Students enter Mariachi Encanto through their participation in the Step-By-Step Cultural Arts program, Mariachi Academy de San Bernardino County. 

Students participate in structured rehearsals and performance preparation rooted in authentic mariachi musical traditions.

Mariachi Encanto is a highly skilled performing group that appears at school events, community celebrations, cultural festivals, and special performances throughout Southern California. 

These experiences give students opportunities to showcase their talents while representing their schools and community through music. The mission of Mariachi Encanto is to foster teamwork, responsibility, cultural appreciation, and creativity through the study and performance of traditional mariachi music.
